AEC has carried out several projects on contract basis for several domestic and International customers. This includes, Design, Development, Prototyping etc. AEC has world-class Research and Development capabilities and is undertaking a systematic approach to product development. AEC has developed key R&D staff resources and processes required to provide high quality, competitive electronic products and services. R&D is one of AEC's strongest strategic assets that will open new markets for AEC and will help serve its customers better.

AEC has been focusing it's efforts in the last few years to create indigenous in-house design capabilities. The following are some of the products that were designed and produced by AEC; Digital Energy Meter (Addad), VHF Hand-Held Digital Radio, Vehicle Tracking System (Madar), Sequence of Events Recorder (SER) and Prayer Time Calculation System (Nedaa).
